Description
Red Corn Poppies Blowin in the Wind - We capture these red corn poppies as the wind was whipping them around from a low angle with the blue sky behind. These red corn poppies were in a large field of poppies we wanted to capture them up close. Some also call these the common poppy, corn rose, field poppy, Flanders poppy, and red poppy. The poppy is an annual herbaceous species of flowering plant in the poppy family Papaveraceae. The poppy in Texas usually show up around the end of March through the end of April. However it can bee seen at other times if conditon are right. Many people grow them in their garden so they may last a lot longer in good soil and plenty of water. Also the red poppy was known as a symbol of dead soilders from after World War. Many solders died in the trenches where red poppies were blooming and it came be a symbol in European countries. Many people would wear red poppies on Rememberance day.
